In a sea of srec confusion, Knollwood Energy shines the light of the sun on the process of monetizing your credits.  We are experts in both the certification process and the selling process.  Knollwood Energy will perform all the work necessary to turn your solar credits into cash.  We are one of the largest institutional sellers of SREC's in the country.  This size gives us the opportunity to sell credits at prices higher than you could get selling them on your own.

What is the process of getting paid for my SREC's?

Except for NJ SREC's, you don't qualify for credits until you apply for and receive a state certification.  This certification is different than the original application your installer might have made to start the installation.  The benefit of working with Knollwood, is that we are experts in the certification process.  We will do everything necessary to get your system certified in all states that you might profitably sell your credits into.  Coordinating with your installer, we will get all the system information necessary to file for the certifications.   The certification process is unfotunately slow, so please be patient.   Once your system is certified, then we create an account in GATS and start entering your meter readings.  GATS does create credits with a one month delay, the last business day of each month.  For example, at the end of July GATS  will create SRECs produced from the end of June and earlier.

What do I need to do?

At Knollwood Energy, we do everything to make the process simple and efficient.  After all the initial paperwork is completed, all you need to do is get us meter readings at the end of each month.  Oh, there is one more thing, you have to cash our checks.

How often do I get paid?

After your facility is certified and the GATS account created, Knollwood Energy customers will receive checks whenever their facility produces a credit.  So yes, if your system is large enough you will receive 12 checks/year.  We understand that many of our customers have taken out loans to finance their installations and we don't see any reason to hold onto your money.  As long as you are getting us monthly meter readings, we can create your credits and get you paid.
